The main theme of this dialogue is to address economic security, technological security, and national security issues related to AI and energy from the perspective of Korea, Taiwan, and Japan, three East Asian countries that play a crucial role in the global semiconductor supply chain. The semiconductor manufacturing industry is increasingly becoming an energy-intensive sector, which is directly connected to energy security issues in the era of carbon neutrality.

Furthermore, securing AI technology and platforms, which will be significant elements of future national hegemony, also increasingly depends on semiconductors and energy. Korea, Taiwan, and Japan are commonly facing these issues, while also confronting the rapidly expanding industrial, technological, and economic influence of China, their major competitor.

We hope this conference will serve as a meaningful platform for Korea, Taiwan, and Japan to formulate strategic responses to these shared future challenges.
